I started a career in retail with Target in 1995, I moved up quickly within the compary to become team leader. I decided to go back to college to get my bachelor's degree in marketing and management at IUPUT in 1997. While working full time I continued to work my way through each semester of classes taking two or three classes at a time. I was accepted into Kelley School of Business in 2003 for marketing. I continued my classes and found out I was pregnant with my first son in March 2004. I did not go back that fall anticipating the birth of my son. After he was born, I continued to work at Target as a team leader and just figured that would be my career path. I really enjoyed leading a leam, the daily challenges that retail brings, and working with the public. After 26 years and many life changes, I decided that I needed a career change. I had a Staff Pharmacist at Targer CVS ask me if I ever thought about becoming a Pharmacy Technician and offered to train me. Whick of course got my mind thinking about it. I reached out to a good friend of mine that has been a pharmacy tech for the last 20 years and asked her some questions on how I could get started in the field. A few months later a position opened for a tech in training where she was working at Pure Pharmacy in Carmel, IN. The owners of the pharmacy called me in for an interview the next day and I started working there

September 19. 2022.

1 was selected, along with three co-workers, in May of this vear to participate in the KI.R Medical Certification Training School Pharmacy Technician program by my employer. Indiana requires that techs in training be certifled within one year, which mine is in September. When I started the class, it was a bit overwhelming. This was a huge time connitment outside of working full-time. I kept reminding myself that I needed Yo do this for my career and for myself and notking was going to stop

Pete.

The class structure was well planned and executed. KI.R definitely took the time and energy to focus on the most important aspects of becoming a pharmacy technician and offered support through the coaches and instructors. What helped me most during the class was the repetition and number of assignments given. By reperitively going over the material this helps you memorize the important facis.

I received ny NHA ceruficate July 25, 2023, and I could not be happier. I plan on continuing to work at Pure Pharmacy in Carmel, Indiana. The pharmacy is a compounding pharmacy, we specialize in peptides, hormones, creams and capsules. I am interested in possibly learning sterile compounding to Juriker my pharmacy technician carter and grow within nylcompany.
