Community outreach is more than an initiative, it’s a heartbeat. It connects people, ideas, and opportunities. It’s about showing up with purpose, building trust, and creating pathways that make a lasting difference. At KLR, we hold these values at the center of our mission, shaping how we engage with students, partners, and the communities we serve.
A prime example of this commitment is our partnership with MedVet, where we’ve built a strong and rewarding relationship with Kalen Guffin-Allen and her team. MedVet, a trusted provider of emergency and specialty veterinary services, has given our students an excellent environment to not only learn but grow. MedVet has hosted three KLR students, each one exceeding expectations, and even welcomed one onto their team as a summer hire before the student departed for college. As Kalen shared, “The success of this partnership is best reflected in the fact we were able to hire one of your students for the summer before she departed for college, an outcome that truly speaks to the caliber of students coming from your program.” This partnership highlights the powerful impact that shared goals and meaningful collaboration can create.

KLR is committed to supporting our partners with responsiveness and open communication, whether it’s answering questions quickly, collaborating on solutions, or ensuring each placement is seamless from start to finish. Our students arrive ready to contribute from day one because they receive focused training, close supervision, and clear expectations designed to help them succeed in real-world settings. Additionally, our team provides hands-on administrative support, handling scheduling, documentation, feedback, and

problem-solving to make hosting students easier and more efficient. As Kalen shared, “Bridgette and Katie were quick to respond to questions, partner on solutions, and ensure the students were set up for success. Your receptiveness to feedback and commitment to preparing your students for the real-world pace of veterinary medicine helped us create a supportive, engaging, and balanced learning environment.” These efforts reflect our dedication to making every partnership productive, rewarding, and impactful for all involved.
The approach KLR takes to building strong, collaborative partnerships benefits every program we offer, creating meaningful experiences for students and lasting value for our partners. These collaborations serve as investments in the future workforce, helping students develop the skills, confidence, and professionalism they need to succeed in their chosen paths. KLR is committed to sustaining long-term, supportive relationships where students, partners, and communities all benefit from shared purpose and collaboration. Our motto is “You can do hard things,” and from a community outreach perspective, we believe that together, we can do hard things, building stronger programs, stronger partnerships, and stronger communities along the way.
