CERTIFIED CLINICAL MEDICAL ASSISTANT  CONTINUING EDUCATION

ALL Certified Clinical Medical Assistants (CCMAs) need 10 hours of Continuing Education (CE) every year. This is essential to maintain your certification and stay up-to-date with the latest in medical practices.

There are many websites and methods to complete CE. For each one, you will need to create an account and add your NHA number.

Many CE credits are FREE! Although, some sites have member options where you can join and pay a fee each year to receive unlimited access to continuing education. CE's are made up of online modules, webinars, and podcasts.

Recommended Sites for Continuing Education:

Note: Some websites may charge for CE credits. Be sure to explore all options to find the best fit for your needs.

When searching for CE courses on these sites, make sure they are specifically for Certified Clinical Medical Assistants. Some courses may be for other healthcare professionals,  it's important to verify that the course is for CCMAs.

Important Points:

  • Proof of Completion: In case of an audit by NHA, it is crucial to save your CE completion certificates. Keep a file with printed materials and a folder on your computer with downloaded certificates.
  • NHA Number: Always ensure you have entered your NHA number correctly on the CE websites. This is necessary for credits to be recorded.
  • Processing Time: After completing a CE course, it can take up to 72 hours for the credits to be reflected in your account. To avoid any issues, PRINT or DOWNLOAD the certificate for your own records immediately after completion.
Keeping your CE records organized will help ensure a smooth renewal process. Once you have all of your certificates saved, you can click the button below to renew your NHA Certification.
By staying diligent with your continuing education, you ensure not only compliance with certification requirements but also your growth and proficiency as a CCMA.
